OUR ECO-RESPONSIBLE COMMITMENTS

Ever since we opened our doors, we have been committed to environmental responsibility.

Find out more about the many actions we have taken to promote a sustainable future.

GRAND HOTEL BRISTOL

WATER MANAGEMENT

Our initiatives start with a thoughtful approach to water consumption.

On our terraces and roofs, we have installed water recovery systems. This water is then used to maintain our green spaces.

We have introduced a policy of recovering water jugs and ice buckets in our restaurant. This water is then used to water our flowers, contributing to the beauty of our environment while avoiding waste.

We plan to go one step further and fit all our rooms with low-flow flush systems. But also all our taps and showers with flow regulation devices. All these improvements are designed to maintain unrivalled comfort while saving water.

GRAND HOTEL BRISTOL

ELECTRICITY MANAGEMENT

We have implemented measures to minimize our energy footprint while ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our guests.

The use of LED light bulbs throughout the hotel provides beautiful luminosity while consuming little energy. This not only reduces our electricity consumption, but also extends the life of our bulbs, thus helping to reduce waste.

We have also installed electricity-saving boxes in certain rooms. These intelligent devices switch off the electricity, air conditioning and televisions when the room is not occupied. We plan to equip every room with such a device in the near future.

To ensure maximum comfort, the air conditioning is set at a temperature of 23°C, providing a refreshing ambience without sacrificing energy efficiency. Our heating system maintains a temperature of 20°C for a warm and pleasant environment, while respecting our commitment to sustainability.

GRAND HOTEL BRISTOL

WASTE RECYCLING

Waste is meticulously sorted for efficient recycling. Recycling bins are strategically placed throughout the facility, facilitating the sorting process for our customers and staff.

Recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic and glass are carefully separated and recycled, enabling them to be transformed into new resources.

Another initiative we have adopted is soap recycling. The Sapocycle company collects used soaps and transforms them, giving them a second life! The Sapocycle association helps to improve sanitary conditions for children and families in need. Disabled people are in charge of soap recycling, enabling them to work in a stable environment.

To manage our waste even more efficiently, we have invested in a modern waste compactor. This equipment compresses waste, reducing its volume and facilitating recycling.

SUSTAINABLE AND RESPONSIBLE PURCHASING

We favor reusable and recyclable goods, and minimize packaging and waste. Whenever possible, we try to give products a second life.

As part of our commitment to preserving our planet, we have chosen to equip our hotel with top-of-the-range bedding, including natural-fiber comforters and eco-designed pillows.

We systematically favor the use of environmentally-friendly products, particularly for cleaning. All our areas are maintained using dry steam technology, thanks to the Vapodil system.

A LOCAL, GOURMET PLATE

Our restaurant favors short circuits by working closely with local producers. We value the full use of produce and give priority to seasonal fruit and vegetables.

For our vegetables, we rely on the Siffert market gardener in Colmar, and for our sauerkraut, we buy from the Ades farm in Krautergersheim.

We work on a daily basis with the Herrscher charcuterie in Colmar, which honors the culinary heritage of our beautiful region by offering a wide choice of Alsatian charcuterie.

In the same local spirit, we cooperate with La Cabane à Farine in Dessenheim, which supplies us with cereals, pasta and flour.

For breakfast, we rely on Nicole’s jams from Chatenois. Baked the old-fashioned way in a copper cauldron, discover 100% traditional Alsatian products.
